1. Removal of finishes and substrate cleaning. Remove loose materials, powdery layers, oil, dust and weak old finishes. Repair visible defects, holes and local cracks with Rapidseal 5M.
2. Apply 1 coat of CKS Primer. Apply evenly on the prepared substrate to strengthen the surface and improve bonding for the waterproofing layer.
3. Apply 2 coats of SpiderWeb 200X. Apply according to the product instructions. Cross-direction application is recommended to build a continuous waterproofing layer on cracks, tile joints and window-edge areas.
4. Restoration of finishes. After the waterproofing layer is fully dry and the leakage risk has been addressed, restore the exterior finish based on site requirements.
• Confirm the source of leakage: Check whether the water comes from exterior cracks, window edges, tile joints, roof-wall junctions or pipe penetrations.
• Assess substrate strength: Do not apply a waterproofing layer directly over powdery, hollow or loose finishes.
• Treat critical details: Strengthen window edges, wall corners, service penetrations and junctions between different materials.
• Check weather conditions: Avoid application during rain, on untreated wet substrates or before expected heavy rain.
• Follow product data: Coverage, drying time, application temperature and recoat interval should follow the latest product instructions and actual site conditions.
Q1: Can CKS Primer be used as the waterproofing layer?
No. CKS Primer is mainly used for sealing, penetration reinforcement and bonding improvement. It should be used together with SpiderWeb 200X or other suitable waterproofing materials.
Q2: Can SpiderWeb 200X be applied directly on a powdery wall?
It is not recommended. Dusty, sandy or loose substrates can reduce adhesion. Clean the surface first, repair defects and apply CKS Primer before waterproofing.
Q3: Is this system suitable for window edge leakage?
Yes, it can be used to strengthen waterproofing around window-edge wall areas. However, if the frame sealant is aged or the frame-wall gap is open, the joint should be resealed or repaired before the waterproofing system is applied.
