CKS Basecoat Sealer is a water-based/alkyd-modified sealer designed to:

1.Seal porous substrates (concrete/wood/plasterboard)

2.Block alkali & moisture migration

3.Enhance topcoat adhesion & color uniformity

1.Fast-drying: Touch dry in ≤1h (25°C)
2.High build: 45%+ volume solids
3.Low VOC: ≤80g/L (GB 24409 compliant)
4.Corrosion-inhibitive: Passes 500h salt spray (ISO 9227)

As a primer to protect the subsequent coats against the effect of alkalinity and moisture from the substrate.

Pigment：Titanium dioxide & mineral extenders
Binder：Acrylic-modified resin (water-based/alkyd)
Volume Solid：45% ±2% (nominal)
Diluent：Water

Finishing：Smooth matte (adjustable with dilution)
Colour：White
Theoritical Coverage：10–12 m²/kg (1 coat, 50µm DFT)
Drying Time：Touch dry – 1 hour.
Hard dry – 4 hour.
*Dependent on temperature and humidity.
Recoating Interval：2 to 4 hours.

1.Surface Prep

Concrete: Moisture <10%, pH <9

Metal: SSPC-SP1 (remove rust/mill scale)

Wood: Sand to 120-grit, degrease

2.Mixing

Stir gently; dilute with ≤5% water (spray)

3.Methods

Brush/Roller: 5-10% dilution

Airless Spray: 0.5mm nozzle, 1500 psi

4.Curing

Full cure: 7 days (20°C)
